Rain, rain go away?
It's not really the rain what bothers me, it's the humidity.
Growing up in a desert makes you go crazy when humidity levels rise. Rain comes and goes...but humidity stays, and lingers like an unwanted guest that just doesn't know how to say good bye and keeps on eating all your favorite crackers before you get to the plate.
I really hate Philadelphia during the summer because of the city's killer heat/humidty combination. It always manages to easily turn my cozy apartment, which is at the top of the building, sizzling hot. Unfortunately it's the wrong kind of sizzling hot.
For three months now, as I walk outside (and proceed to nearly melt on the pavement) I've been daydreaming of cool breezes, colorful leaves and baking...lots of baking! I've been daydreaming of the season that made me fall in love with Philly: Fall. I've been daydreaming of having coffee in my window sill and enjoying the view of the leaves falling and the people's colorful scarves...
How long shall I continue to daydream??
Rain, rain...go away...
